History & Background

Niagara Thermal Products LLC was founded originally in 1982 as Niagara Development and Manufacturing Company. The Company is a leading integrated manufacturer and seller of compact heat exchangers, heat sinks, heat transfer surfaces and complete heat management systems used in a variety of applications, including oil cooling (engine, transmission and hydraulic), air cooling (turbo-charging, inter-cooling and after-cooling), electronic cooling, fuel cooling, condensing and evaporating. Niagara Thermal provides a full range of engineering and manufacturing services from initial concept design to aftermarket product support, guaranteeing customers an optimized thermal solution and a high level of responsiveness throughout the entire process.

Niagara’s continuous investment in and commitment to flexibility in its engineering and manufacturing processes has given the Company a breadth of market coverage that is unique among its industry peers. The Company’s depth of experience in customization is further complemented by its low to medium volume repetitive-build manufacturing process, developed to maximize production flexibility. The Company has built an outstanding reputation around its willingness to tackle the most complex thermal exchange challenges and to provide highly engineered, lower-cost, and time-efficient responses.

The Company sells into diverse markets including defense, aerospace, marine, electronics and telecommunications, automotive, industrial and fuel cell and power generation. Because of the Company’s diversification into multiple market channels, Niagara is insulated against cyclical fluctuations associated with any one market segment. The Company’s customer base includes many industry leading and well regarded firms including General Dynamics, Raytheon, BAE/United Defense, L3 Communications, Hawker Beechcraft, Teledyne Continental , Hamilton Sundstrand, Cummins Engine and Detroit Diesel

Among the programs for which the Company has provided heat exchangers and heat transfer systems are the Abrams M1 tank, the Bradley fighting vehicle, the Stryker personnel carrier; the Air Warrior program, various piston-driven aircraft engines and environmental control systems for most current generation jet aircraft. Niagara Thermal’s products are used to cool a wide range of electronics chassis and have been incorporated on major telecommunications systems for various companies including Lucent Technologies.
